Cobleskill (Schoharie County): Regina L. Guernsey 80, of State Route 145 in East Cobleskill passed away peacefully Sunday, May 9, 2010 at her residence after a long illness.

Regina was born December 20, 1929 in Cobleskill, a daughter of Andrew and Edith (Myers) Lawton. She was educated at Sagendorf Corners Country School and later attended Cobleskill Central. She became a homemaker and housewife to her loving family. She enjoyed farming and cooking for her family and friends. She competed in the National Grange Baking contest and was awarded 2nd place for her Cinnamon Leaf Coffee Ring. Her other hobbies included antiquing, rug hooking, and gardening.

Regina Guernsey is preceded by her husband Gerald Guernsey, who passed away on December 3, 1974 and long time companion Foster Taylor of Cobleskill.

Survivors include two sons Daniel (Margit) Guernsey of Johnson City, TN, Steven (Mary) Guernsey of Schenectady, three daughters Susan (William) Lowell of Rockledge, FL, Mary Becker of Cobleskill, and Geraldine Guernsey and her companion, Henry Ford of Albany, one sister Ella Jane Ignaszewski of Cobleskill, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

At this time no services will be held. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28th at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Quarry Street, Cobleskill, NY.

The Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill and the Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie and Central Bridge is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
