Kenneth G. Hennessy, Jr.

Dorloo (Schoharie County): Kenneth G. “Jerry” Hennessy, Jr., 76 of State Rte 165 died suddenly on Monday, October 13th at his home.
Jerry was born July 9, 1932 in Dunnsville, NY a son of Kenneth G. and Alice E. (Garlock) Hennessy. He was educated at St. Ann’s Academy in Albany and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served his country from 1952 to 1954 in Korea. He joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #106 in Albany and began his career working on projects such as the Blenheim-Gilboa project, St. Lawrence Seaway, I-88, and the NYS Thruway.
He was a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Korean War Veterans’ Association in Troy.
Mr. Hennessy was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Gerald Hennessy, III in 1991 and his longtime companion, Helen H. Hennessy in 1992.
Survivors include his siblings, June C. LeFevre, of Ravena, Alice D. Jones, of Albany, Frank G. Hennessy, of Akron, Ohio, Richard W. Hennessy, of East Greenbush, and Larry B. Hennessy, of Columbus, Georgia. One aunt also survives, Erma Garlock, of Altamont along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday, October 19th at the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home, 108 Chapel Street, Cobleskill. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, October 20th at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Janesville.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Hennessy to charity of choice.
