March 23, 1945 - February 21, 2009

Town of Charleston (Montgomery County): MICHAEL D HOFMANN 63, OF THE TOWN OF CHARLESTON PASSED PEACEFULLY IN HIS HOME SURROUNDED BY FAMILY AFTER A COURAGOUS BATTLE WITH CANCER. HE WAS THE SON OF THE LATE CHARLES AND EDITH HOFMANN OF ALBANY.

MR HOFMANN WAS A 1963 GRADUATE OF DUANESBURG HIGH SCHOOL. AFTER GRADUATION HE IMMEDIATELY ENTERED THE US ARMY AND WAS STATIONED IN KOREA DURING THE WAR. AFTER RETURNING HOME HE WORKED FOR GENERAL ELECTRIC IN SCHENECTADY FOR 25 YEARS. AFTER AN EARLY RETIREMENT FROM GE HE WORKED FOR THE ADVANCED AUTO WAREHOUSE IN THE GUILDERLAND INDUSTRIAL PARK UNTIL BECOMING A SECURITY GUARD FOR BLUE CROSS/ BLUE SHEILD IN ALBANY NY

HE WAS PRECEEDED BY HIS BROTHERS: GEORGE LESTER HOFMANN OF ALBANY NY, DAVID ALLEN HOFMANN OF ALBANY NY, JOHN DANIEL HOFMANN OF GUILDERLAND NY, LEROY PETE HOFMANN OF CENTRAL BRIDGE NY AND HIS SISTER MARGARET (PEGGY) DUELL OF SYRACUSE NY.

MR HOFMANN IS SURVIVED BY HIS LOVING WIFE OF 25 YEARS CAROL A HOFMANN, HIS BROTHERS CHARLES HOFMANN OF SCHENECTADY NY, ROBERT (VICKI) HOFMANN OF DELANSON NY, EDWARD (JUDY) HOFMANN OF MIDDLEGROVE NY, GEORGE (DOROTHY) HOFMANN OF MIDDLEBURG NY, HIS SISTERS MARIE GODIN OF FRANKLIN NH, ANNA MASTRO OF GUILDERLAND NY, JEAN TALMADGE OF SCHENECTADY NY, CATHERINE(VICTOR) MICALIZZI OF SCHENECTADY NY, EDITH LOMASNEY OF SCHENECTADY NY, JOYCE BUSKEY OF MIDDLEBURG NY AND NUMEROUS NEICES AND NEPHEWS, HIS CHILDREN RICK HOFMANN OF ESPERANCE NY, SHELLIE CACCIOLFE OF ESPERANCE NY, STEP CHILDREN DAWN MICHELE(RICHARD) ROOSEVELT OF ESPERANCE NY, SHAWN (TINA) ROCK OF FULTONVILLE NY, TAMMY ROCK OF ROTTERDAM NY

MR HOFMANN WAS A FRIEND AND AIDE TO THE LOCAL AMISH COMMUNITY EVEN DURING HIS ILLNESS AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL

CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD FROM 7-9PM ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH AT THE LANGAN FUNERAL HOME, 327 MAIN ST. SCHOHARIE. BURIAL WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY AT THE CONVENIENCE OF THE FAMILY.
