William VanDycke

March 17, 1934 - May 26, 2008

Central Bridge (Schoharie County): William James VanDycke, 74, of Church Street, Central Bridge, died Monday, May 26th at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital after being stricken at home.

Mr. VanDycke was born March 17, 1934 in German Flats, NY a son of Frank and Mellinette (Scott) VanDycke. He has lived in the Central Bridge area for many years and had previously lived in the Schoharie area and Ingram's Mills, NY. He worked for over 33 years for the Klemme Farm in Fort Plain as a dairy farm-hand.

He was a member of the Carlisle Senior Citizens and was a 4-H volunteer.

His first wife, Joan Marie (Madison) predeceased him on January 29, 1983. He is survived by his second wife, Maria (VanWormer) VanDycke, whom he married July 4, 1988. His children, Mary Joan Baum, of Canajoharie, James William VanDycke, of Little Falls, Barbara Jean Schrom, of Middleburgh and Eric VanWormer, of Schenectady. One sister, Mellinette Herringshaw, of Stratford, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 31st at the Langan Funeral Home, 195 N. Main Street, Central Bridge. Calling hours will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rural Park Cemetery, Ingram's Mills, NY.
